Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology

The Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology (MPI-MP) was founded in 1994 and has developed into one of the world’s leading plant science institutes with a focus on systems biology. The MPI-MP is devoted to basic research and applies state of the art OMICS profiling technologies combined with theoretical, systems biology oriented analysis methods and approaches. The MPI-MP has been a pioneer in the plant metabolomics field since 1998 and is fully equipped for metabolomic phenotyping, specifically with GC-MS technology, appropriate bioinformatics and database infrastructure for archiving, processing and mining metabolome, proteome, and transcriptome data. The institute has developed and maintains the Golm Metabolome Database, a central GC-MS data resource that also integrates sophisticated methods for spectra and compound annotation.

The Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology is part of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science, an independent and non-profit research organisation.
