Consorzio Interuniversitario Risonanze Magnetiche di Metalloproteine Paramagnetiche

CIRMMP-CERM is a private/public institution financed by the Italian Ministry for Research, MIUR, by the EC, and by charitable organizations. EC has recognized CIRMMP as a Large Research Infrastructure in the field of NMR since 1994. Since 2007 CIRMMP is one out of the 7 core labs of the European Research Infrastructure in Structural Biology (INSTRUCT; www.instruct-fp7.eu) that has been defined by the European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructure (ESFRI). Together with other European laboratories, CIRMMP is building a Grid for the calculation of the structures of biomolecules (We-NMR project: www.wenmr.eu). CIRMMP has developed metabolomics department with strong expertise in statistical analysis and integration of –omics data. It is a participant in the project CHANCE (www.chancefood.eu) relating metabolomics and nutrition and is a metabolomic partner in the SPIDIA project (Standardisation and improvement of generic Pre-analytical tools and procedures for In vitro DIAgnostics; www.spidia.eu). CIRMMP has promoted the establishment of a biobank (www.davincieuropeanbiobank.org) for biological samples and biomolecular resources, and associated to the Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure (BBMRI). CIRMMP is also a partner in the BioMedBridges project for the construction of an e-infrastructure allowing interoperability between data and services in the biomedical sciences. The replacement value of the instrumentation presently available at CIRMMP is approximately 40 M€.
