The University of Barcelona (UB) is a public University with 84000 students and 4500 R&D personnel. Their basic activities are higher education and scientific research (150 EU projects/year). Degrees are offered in 73 different areas of teaching with numerous postgraduate and doctorate programs as well as continuous education courses. The UB has established instruments that undertake different parts of the knowledge and technology transfer process, such as the Barcelona Science Park and the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation. The Scientific-Technical Services UB (SCT-UB) are a facility of the University of Barcelona designed for providing support to research in a coordinated and integral way. The SCT-UB have been granted full certification to ISO 9001:2008. The metabolomics facilities include three GC-MS (single quadrupole instruments), two Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometers (One Time of Flight, one triple quadrupole) and a TQ-Orbitrap Velos equipped with a TriVersa NanoMate.
